Return to Skating Protocols for FALL/WINTER

Prior to returning to the ice, all participants and their parent/guardians are required to:

  • fill out the Skate Canada Waiver and either scan and email it to info@figure8skating.ca or bring it to the first day of classes.
  • Attend a mandatory meeting to go over the new processes and procedures. This meeting will by held for STARSkate and PreSTAR on August 31st at 7:00 pm over Zoom. More information on this meeting will be sent to registered participants. A link can also be found under Registration tab on the website.
  • Attend a mandatory meeting to go over the new processes and procedures. This meeting will by held for CANSkate and ADULTSkate on September 8th at 7:00 pm over Zoom. More information on this meeting will be sent to registered participants. A link can also be found under Registration tab on the website.

Prior to leaving home, skaters are encouraged to perform self screening by going through the Skate Canada Self Screen Checklist.

Skaters are expected to arrive at the arena with their skates on, and with minimal personal belongings.

Upon arrival to each session, skaters and their parent/guardians will be required to:

Anyone who will be in the building for more than 15 minutes is required to submit their information for contact tracing. Skaters and parents/guardians must keep a 2 metre distance from others at all times.

Skating gloves MUST be washed after each use and it is recommended that all skating attire is washed after each session. Yoga mats and skate guards should also be wiped down after every session.
