Open for Fall CanSkate and Adult/Teen Skate!

Open for Fall/Winter PreSTAR and STARSkate!

We are offering a 10% discount for families that register 3 or more skaters.

Please note that we are unable to offer the PreCanSkate program at this time. Due to the hands-on nature of the program we are unable to accommodate beginner and first-time skaters due to COVID-19 social-distancing restrictions and in accordance with Skate Canada guidelines.

All those who are able to fall down, stand up and move forward unassisted are encouraged to register in the CanSkate program. Additional assistance will be provided to any younger and less experienced skaters, as needed, in this program.

Please contact the Cankate Coordinator ( if you have any questions.

What to Expect at Skating

Skating will look a bit different this fall as we adjust to the new regulations and protocols put in place by the Alberta government, the City of Edmonton and by Skate Canada. Figure 8 Skating Club is committed to ensure that all regulations are followed so that skating remains a safe activity for your child to stay fit and active while having fun.

Volunteer Requirements

The Figure 8 Skating Club is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The success of the Club depends on the volunteer efforts of members. Volunteering in the club is a great opportunity to learn about the sport of figure skating and how the club runs, as well as a fun way to meet other club members and have a good time while helping out. It is mandatory for every family with skaters registered in PreSTAR, PreSTAR Academy or STARSkate to volunteer 10 credits and assist with Fundraising. You will be able to pick your positions when you register online.
