Introduction to Figure Skating (IFS)

IFS  is a group program designed for skaters who wish to pursue figure skating in the STARskate or Competitive stream. It is suitable for any skater who has experience with skating (minimum stage 3 Canskate badge) with an interest in figure skating. Skaters will continue to work on their Canskate stages and receive ribbons and badges according to their progression. IFS is only for skaters who have not yet passed any Star 1 tests and all skaters must have permission from the skating director before registering for this program.

The IFS program will consist of a 45 minutes group lesson with one of our certified coaches, and a 15 minute individual practice session where skaters will start to learn how to work on their own and also be able to practice what they have learned in their group lesson. There will also be a 30min off ice class held either before or after the on ice session. Off ice is equally as important as on ice training and skaters are expected to attend all sessions.

It will be on a first come first serve.  Here is a list of position for the 2017-18 Volunteer credits.docx.
